NAS devices can be used for various purposes such as data backup and sharing. sMedio DTCP MOVE is an application for NAS devices that allows users to backup (dub) TV programs recorded by recorders, TVs, set-top boxes, etc. to NAS devices and manage them. Recorders, TVs, set-top boxes, etc., can be backed up (dubbed) and managed on a NAS device. By connecting the recording device and the NAS device to a LAN, the NAS device can be used as a destination for storing large amounts of recorded content.
Main Functions
Backup of recorded TV programs
Currently popular dubbing methods for recording devices via LAN are mainly divided into two types: download type and upload type (*1). The simple web UI of sMedio DTCP MOVE displays a list of recording devices within a LAN and allows users to specify content for download-type dubbing. In addition, dubbing from a device that supports upload-type dubbing can be performed by specifying sMedio DTCP MOVE as the upload destination.

Content Management
The library of TV recorded content dubbed to NAS with sMeido DTCP MOVE can be listed, deleted, and managed on the Web UI, as well as organized and categorized by creating folders.
Streaming server function
sMedio DTCP MOVE also functions as a streaming server. sMedio DTCP MOVE allows TV recorded content dubbed to a NAS to be streamed to any DTCP-IP compatible playback device or app in the LAN. For streaming playback, sMedio TV Suite for Windows/Android and various DTCP-IP compatible players can be used.
Broad device compatibility
sMedio DTCP MOVE is based on DTCP-IP, a copyright protection technology used in many devices, and is compatible with a wide range of devices. For recorder devices, compatibility has already been confirmed with major Japanese manufacturers. (*1)

FAQ
What recording devices are supported? (Can I move programs from a recording device called XXX to the NAS?)
For information on recording devices that can move programs to a NAS using DTCP Move, see the "System Requirements" page.
The DTCP Move UI recognizes the recording devices on the same network, but the download button on the UI does not appear.
Some recording devices do not support external operations. In such cases, please specify the NAS as the move destination on the recording device and perform the move.
Can I move programs from my NAS to other recording devices?
You cannot move copyright-protected programs from the NAS to other recording devices. However, copy-free programs can be moved from the NAS to other recording devices. (The move operation is performed from the recording device.)
Can I playback (watch) programs that I have moved to the NAS using the network player function on my TV or recorder?
Playback is possible with "sMedio TV Suite for Windows" for Windows or "sMedio TV Suite for Android" for Android(*). Other DTCP-IP compatible players can also be used, but compatibility is not guaranteed. sMedio TV Suite for Android" only supports playback of programs recorded in compressed formats such as AVC, and does not support playback of programs recorded in DR format.
After purchasing sMedio DTCP MOVE, when you try to turn on the DMS setting, you will get a message "The DTCP certificate could not be downloaded. Please check your network status and try again." error message appears.
When using DTCP Move, it is necessary to download the "DTCP Certificate" via the Internet only once for the first time. If you are using DTCP Move in an environment without an Internet connection, please connect to the Internet in some way.
The DTCP Move UI does not recognize recording devices in the same network.
Please confirm that your recording device is compatible with DTCP Move by clicking here.
Please make sure that the DTCP-IP server function is set to ON in the settings of your recording device.
Mobile WiFi routers and some routers have a function called "privacy separator" or "AP isolator" that prohibits communication within the local network.
Please review these settings and change them so that the NAS and recording device exist on the same network.
Please make sure that the DTCP-IP server function is set to ON in the settings of your recording device.
Mobile WiFi routers and some routers have a function called "privacy separator" or "AP isolator" that prohibits communication within the local network.
Please review these settings and change them so that the NAS and recording device exist on the same network.
Can I add an external hard disk to my hard disk and save programs to it?
The latest version of DTCP Move adds a "Shared Folder" setting in addition to the "Move To Folder" setting. This feature allows programs stored in different folders on different hard disks to be distributed at the same time.
*Moving from a recording device will only be performed to the folder set in the "Move to Folder" section.

Can I move program files to a hard disk connected externally to the NAS?
The latest version of DTCP Move supports transferring files between HDDs; please use the File Manager application in the NAS to move files.
