sMedio Announces Strategic Alliance with Zhejiang Huafon ESS Technology Co.
(Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Sadanori Iwamoto; TSE Growth: 3913; hereinafter "sMedio") has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Zhejiang Huafon ESS Technology Co. ("Huafon ESS") to provide Huafon ESS's power storage system ("ESS") to the Japanese renewable energy market.
The agreement will enable sMedio to handle sales, marketing, installation, support, and maintenance of ESS products provided by Huafon ESS in Japan. Huafon ESS and sMedio will also expand their collaboration in future product and business development by leveraging the strengths of both companies.
In recent years, environmental issues have been recognized as a common global challenge, and the introduction of renewable energy plays an important role in achieving carbon neutrality (zero CO2 emissions). In Japan, the ratio of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal will exceed 20% by 2022, and is increasing every year.
As the entire global society moves toward the realization of a decarbonized society, the introduction of ESS (Electricity Storage Systems) for the purpose of adjusting electricity supply and demand, BCP measures, etc. is becoming indispensable.
Huafon ESS covers the full range of commercial and industrial ESS, residential ESS, and portable ESS. In addition, Huafon ESS has developed its own intelligent EMS - Moose Platform for comprehensive end-to-end battery life cycle management.
sMedio recognized Huafon ESS as an important partner for sMedio's entry into the Japanese renewable energy market and entered into this agreement.
As a first step, the IC1 series, an all-in-one ESS, will be launched for the Japanese industrial market.
