"GreenBee Cloud Backup" Reaches 500,000 Paid Subscriptions

The major feature update, Ver. 6.0, is now available

GreenBee Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Sadanori Iwamoto; TSE Standard Market: 3913; hereinafter “GreenBee”) has reached a cumulative total of 500,000 paid subscription contracts as of June 29, 2026, for its consumer-oriented cloud-based backup service “GreenBee Cloud Backup” (hereinafter “the Service”), which the company has been providing on an OEM basis since November 2022.

In addition, as of June 2026, we have completed development of the latest version, Ver. 6.0, which features enhanced search and organization functions for backup data, and have begun rolling it out to our OEM partners.

Since its launch in November 2022, this service has steadily increased its subscriber base—reaching 150,000 by March 2025 and 300,000 by October of the same year—and is now enjoyed by many customers. We would like to once again express our gratitude to our sales partners for their hard work and to our loyal customers.
Moving forward, we will continue to work toward our goal of reaching 580,000 contracts by the end of December 2026 by collaborating with our sales partners, strengthening our sales infrastructure, and further enhancing the convenience of our products.

GreenBee is constantly improving the functionality of this service after its launch to make it more comfortable and convenient to use.
In March 2025, we released Ver. 4.0, and Version 5.0 in March of this year. While these updates focused primarily on improvements based on suggestions and requests from our users and sales partners, Version 6.0—the update we are now rolling out—is a major functional update centered on enhancing the search and organization capabilities for backup data, a feature for which we have received numerous requests over the years.

When this service was first launched in 2022, its core features centered on smartphone repairs, data migration during device upgrades, and data recovery. However, as the service has become more widespread, we have found that many customers are using the app’s built-in photo and video viewing features to browse their everyday photos and videos directly within the app, while keeping their data stored in the cloud.

Therefore, in Version 6.0, under the theme “From Data Backup to Full-Fledged Cloud Storage,” numerous new features have been added, including improved data search capabilities, organization and categorization functions, and enhanced data sharing capabilities.

  • A UI display that lets you instantly see the date a photo or video was taken, even while scrolling
  • A “Filter Search” feature that lets you narrow down large collections of photos and videos by date and location
  • The “Favorites” feature lets you mark photos and videos you view often as favorites so you can access them instantly
  • The “Create and Edit Albums” feature, which lets you group photos and videos into your own albums
  • The “Album Sharing” feature, which lets you share entire albums

By taking advantage of these features, you’ll be able to use this service more conveniently as a safe, everyday data storage solution, rather than just relying on it “in case of an emergency” as you have in the past.

The new features in Version 6.0 will be included in all future products, and we will also be rolling them out as free updates to all existing customers.
